The NEW Catalogue

After using the "new catalogue" a few times, I can see how fun it will be to actually use it in some fun applications. I hope it will help me in picking out books for later and for helping with reader's advisory. It's hard to tell a patron what they should read next sometimes. I personally have a hard time getting all of my genealogy books I want to read done.

Genealogy is fun!

Imagine the struggles of our ancestors!

Genealogy is one of America's Favorite Pasttimes!

To search for one's ancestry, one can just imagine what it was like for our ancestors to endure all the trials and tribulations it took to get to the new world--America! We have a rich history of people who have struggled yet triumphed in so many ways to create the world we live in today! I have worked on my family's history for nearly 30 years and I am still amazed at all the things my ancestors accomplished. Just imagine the courage it took to take a voyage on a sea vessel to get to this new land. Imagine the faith they had to endure just that stuggle?

Blogging at the library!

Everyone likes to learn something new. Teaching someone how to find information on their family history via ancestry.com and heritage quest--the library's editions available to all patrons--is a fun format that requires some basic knowledge of computer skills. I hope I can learn some ways to help newbies to computers find the information they are seeking!
